After a long awaited and highly anticipated publication, surf and sun ambassadors Kirsten Thompson and Frances Hernandez have finally released their first issue of their magazine, “Salty at Heart!” Focused on empowering women with articles centered around surf, sustainability, art, balance and travel, this positive and refreshing magazine is a welcome sight for sore eyes. This light weight mag may not be as lengthy as your coveted “Vogue” or “In Style,” but it packs just as much of a punch. Free of the clutter of lengthy ads and pages of models carrying fashionable handbags, this magazine gets right to it so you can start enjoying its high quality articles, photographs and art sooner rather than later. Refreshing don’t you think?

Not only am I excited to have another option to read while I listen to waves on sunny days, but I am ecstatic that I am a part of this new publication. That’s right, page 60 marks my experiences in my first yoga class in “Reflections of a First Time Yogi.” It’s short, sweet and honest. And that’s all I’m going to say about it! You have to buy it to read it and then you can let me know what you think! If you’re in Wilmington you can purchase this lovely little mag at Tidal Creek Co-op or Re-eco! If not, then head over to the Salty At Heart website and purchase a copy there and support small businesses!
